If You're Going To Plan For Anything, You'd Better Plan For Ai
AI is at best only partially understood, even by the researchers and developers who work with it. Most of the profound breakthroughs we've seen so far have been "emergent". In other words, they've taken people by surprise. The ability to have conversations, the ability to write code, and even the ability to seem "intelligent". What's the most misunderstood thing about AI? The speed at which it is growing. It's exponential. It's possibly even hyper-exponential. Whatever you call it, the world in just a few years will have been transformed. How do you plan for this rate of change, and how do you use it to your advantage? This is your intuitive guide to the biggest technical revolution ever.

David Shapton
David Shapton has had parallel careers in technology as a CTO and a writer for over thirty years. His career in digital media began in the late 1980s, when he co-designed one of the first digital audio mixing consoles. He was a columnist at Sound on Sound magazine, writing the “Cutting Edge” feature. He has since been the European President of Atomos, Director of Communications at Hedge, and co-founder and editor-in-chief at RedShark Media. He is now working on a project called Future Transform, where he advises individuals and companies on their approach to AI and hyper-exponential technology change. David’s university training in philosophy has (finally!) reached peak relevance in his writings about AI and its relationship to fundamentals like authenticity, consciousness, intelligence, awareness, and belief vs knowledge. David is writing a book called “How To Understand Today”, which may never be finished because it is going out of date faster than he can write it.
